2026 Event
Code of Conduct
At all SHRM Virgin Islands ("SHRM VI" or "Our") conferences, the goal of SHRM VI is to provide a safe and positive experience and SHRM VI expects attendees, exhibitors, speakers, vendors, volunteers and sponsors to follow this Code of Conduct. Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated at any time and may result in immediate removal from the event.

Unacceptable Behavior

Offensive or unwanted behavior or language, including, but not limited to, discriminatory behavior or language based on race, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, transgender status, age, disability, veteran or marital status, political affiliation or any other similar categories.

Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech or actions will not be tolerated.

Visual harassment, such as displaying sexual or offensive images OR inappropriate language at the session, meeting, or event, including in presentations, within the mobile app, slide decks, as backgrounds, or on clothing visible to attendees.

Intimidation or bullying, either online or in-person.

Possession of a weapon or something that could be construed as a weapon during the event or on video.

Photographing, video- or audio-recording of slides or oral presentation, as well as posting presentations without presenter/author's permission.

Possession of illegal substances during the event.

Sharing your event registration information, including your conference badge, with another person(s).

Inappropriate disruption of sessions, discussions, or other events.

Real or implied threat of physical, professional or financial damage or harm.

Any other illegal activity not already covered above.

Consent for SHRM VI Photographers
By attending the event, you acknowledge that your image may be captured on video or in photos taken on behalf of SHRM VI. You further provide SHRM VI the right to use candid group photos or videos without securing additional permission, provided those images are not accompanied by further personally identifying information.
Please note:

Photos and/or recordings cannot be copied, altered, sold, exhibited, or further distributed without SHRM's prior written consent.

Photos and/or recordings are the exclusive property of SHRM VI.

SHRM VI may post photos and/or recordings on SHRM VI's official social media pages during and after the conference.
In addition, no disruptions due to photography and/or recording shall be allowed, and violators may lose attendance privileges. This includes drones and personal professional photography equipment and applies to attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and vendors.
You may be asked to participate in interviews, such as testimonial videos, etc. In which case, you will be asked to fill out an additional consent form.
Personal Photography and Social Media
Unless otherwise noted in advance, you may not record any live musical performances.
SHRM encourages exhibitors, speakers, vendors, sponsors, volunteers and attendees to share their experience at SHRM conferences on social media, unless a speaker specifically prohibits sharing of their content. By sharing photos and videos on social media channels, you are consenting that SHRM may reshare, repost and use those photos and videos prior, during, and after the event.
Media Shared by Presenters
Presenters may share additional media and resources as part of their session or session record. These resources are provided for attendees' personal use and are not for distribution unless the resource explicitly states that it can be broadly distributed, or written permission is individually granted by the presenter. In either case, proper attribution to the original creator is required.
IMPORTANT: Use and reproduction of the event logo and/or SHRM VI's logo to promote non-SHRM sanctioned products or services is strictly prohibited.
Certificate of Attendance
A certificate of attendance will be provided upon request for those who require one. Please reach out to the SHRM Customer Experience team to receive your certificate.
Security & Badge Requirements
For the security and safety of attendees, sponsor, exhibitors, vendors, and guests, conference badges must be worn at all times. There are a variety of pass types, which are indicated on each individual's conference badge. Each pass type includes varying levels of access and admission to a SHRM VI conference happenings. Please reference the full breakdown of registration options and what's included in each pass type for more information. Each individual badge needs to be picked up by the individual attendee and cannot be picked up by a representative from your organization.
Waiver of Lawsuit, Assumption of Risk, and Release of Liability
COVID-19 Warning
COVID-19 is a contagious disease that can lead to serious illness, hospitalization, and in some cases death. While SHRM Virgin Islands (SHRM VI) and its partners take reasonable precautions to promote the health and safety of participants at conferences, meetings, and related events, SHRM VI cannot guarantee that attendees will not be exposed to COVID-19 or other communicable illnesses.
By choosing to attend any SHRM VI conference, meeting, training, or event, you acknowledge that there is an inherent risk of exposure to infectious diseases, including COVID-19, in any public setting where people are present.
Assumption of Risk
I have read and understand the above warning regarding COVID-19 and other communicable illnesses. I acknowledge that my attendance at a SHRM Virgin Islands conference or event is voluntary and that participation provides professional and personal value to me.
By attending, I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with exposure to COVID-19 or other communicable diseases and accept full responsibility for my health, safety, and actions while participating in SHRM VI events.
Waiver of Lawsuit / Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I, on behalf of myself and my heirs, family members, successors, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue SHRM Virgin Islands (SHRM VI), its board of directors, officers, committee members, volunteers, agents, partners, sponsors, affiliates, employees, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to illness, injury, loss, or death associated with exposure to COVID-19 or other communicable diseases while attending or participating in any SHRM VI conference or related activity.
Indemnification
I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or liabilities (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to my attendance at a SHRM VI conference or event, including claims related to exposure to COVID-19 or other communicable diseases.
Acknowledgment
By registering for or attending a SHRM Virgin Islands event, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to the terms of this Assumption of Risk, Waiver of Liability, and Indemnification Agreement.
Registration Transfer
Registration transfers are not guaranteed and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If a registered attendee is unable to attend, a request may be submitted to transfer the registration to another individual.
To request a transfer, the original registrant must provide the full registration details of the replacement attendee and clearly identify the individual whose registration is being replaced.
All transfer requests must be submitted through the Cancellation Form and accompanied by an email to info@vishrm.org. SHRM Virgin Islands reserves the right to approve or deny transfer requests based on the circumstances of the request and applicable registration policies.
Event Changes or Cancellation
SHRM Virgin Islands reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel an event due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to severe weather, public safety concerns, venue issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.
If SHRM VI cancels the event, SHRM VI will determine appropriate next steps, which may include rescheduling the event, offering a credit toward a future SHRM VI event, or providing alternative participation options where feasible.
SHRM VI is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by attendees, including but not limited to travel, lodging, or other related expenses.
Refund Policy
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to info@vishrm.org.

Cancellations received on or before July 3, 2026 will be eligible for a 50% refund of the registration fee.

Cancellations received after July 3, 2026 are non-refundable.

No-shows, or attendees who do not submit a written cancellation by the stated deadline, will be responsible for the full registration fee.
